The shop staff
Mike Cherrett, owner
Bike: Pace Hardtail , rigid forks.
Mike is the driving force (literally, heated seats and all) behind The Forge and it's ideals.
A good listener with a good understanding of the needs of his customers.
Mellow yet opionionated, green tea expert, Captain of the Anvil.
Mike Stone, chief workshop technician, cytech qualified.
Bike:Titanium Hardtail and Trek Madone
Marathon/Enduro racer, ex marathon runner, coffee hound.Fully qualified custard cream judge.
Mike S. has many a tale and too much knowledge to do him any good, so please come in and chat to him about any bike related fixes or jams you find yourself in.
Steve Hodges, customer liaison (he hates that title!).
Bike:on back order..come and ask him..it will really cheer him up!
Steve blipped up on the radar as a true enthusiast on the local forest biking scene and when he showed an interest in joining the store team, we couldn't say no to those big puppy dog eyes of his! Just call him "swiss"(as in roll)..oh, and his wife makes awesome cakes too!..hint hint
Martin Ross, cyclist, mechanic, stock control.
Bike:Merida Big Nine XT /Ridgeback Platinum
Whatever the latest fad is... he's done it or got it on back order.
Martin has served a long old time in the trade, worked at many local bike shops, and ridden some weird bikes in his days. He has more bikes than children and wants to keep it that way thanks. He has a strong desire for carbon fibre road bikes and dura ace electronic gears..
If you see a strange black family/bike-taxi roaming around town at Pre-school o' clock..that's him!
Andy Manley
Bike:Kinesis Hardtail/Trek Road bike
Our latest local face to join the guys is local business man Andy.He has ridden for many years and rode across Mexico and up a 5000m volcano just for fun,so if it's a comfy saddle you need to know about then have a chat with Andy.He has triathlon experience and a wealth of knowledge in many areas of cycling...not just riding to the pub and back
